Attorney-Client Portal: Terms and Conditions

Welcome to the myMOpd Attorney-Client Portal (“Portal”) This Portal is provided by Grant Doty, Assistant Public Defender (APD) of the Missouri State Public Defender (MSPD), as an optional tool to enhance communication and facilitate the secure exchange of information and evidence related to your case.

Purpose of the Portal

The primary purpose of this Portal is to keep you, the client, reasonably informed about the status of your matter (Missouri Rules of Professional Conduct (“Mo. Rule”) 4-1.4(a)(1) ). It serves as one method for Grant Doty, APD, to assist in ensuring clients have “sufficient information to participate intelligently in decisions concerning the objectives of the representation and the means by which they are to be pursued, to the extent [you] are willing and able to do so.” (Mo. Rule 4-1.4, Comment 2 ). Your use of this Portal is entirely voluntary. You do not need to use it to obtain effective and quality representation from myMOpd. You can always continue o receive information and evidence through traditional means.

Confidentiality and Account Security

By clicking agreement and using this Portal, you acknowledge that the information shared within it is confidential and is part of your attorney-client relationship. To maintain this confidentiality, it is critical that you safeguard your login credentials. You acknowledge and agree that you will not share your password(s) with any third party. Your adherence to password security is essential in upholding this confidentiality.
